WHAT ARE THE AYURVEDIC BENEFITS OF MANJISTHA ?

Manjistha, also known as Rubia cordifolia or Indian Madder, is renowned for being one of the best blood-purifying herbs. It is primarily used to break down blockages in blood flow and eliminate stagnant blood.

AYURVEDIC PROPERTIES OF MANJISTHA

The antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties of Manjistha make it a valuable herb. In Ayurveda, it is considered essential for skincare due to its Raktashodhak (blood purification) properties, which benefit circulatory health. This herb also helps prevent infections by reducing toxins in the blood. It has numerous therapeutic properties, including calcium channel blocking, anti-diabetic, anti-platelet, and anti-stress effects, and it is used in treating skin problems and has anticancer properties.

HOW IT IS USED

The herb can be applied both internally and externally to promote skin whitening. Using Manjistha powder mixed with honey or rose water 2-3 times a week helps manage acne and pimples by inhibiting acne-causing bacteria due to its antioxidant properties. Topical application of Manjistha also reduces inflammation and skin rashes associated with acne, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, it is beneficial for maintaining shiny and healthy hair. In Ayurveda, consuming Manjistha powder after lunch and dinner helps manage diarrhea due to its Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) properties. Regular consumption of Manjistha can be beneficial for diabetics as it lowers blood glucose levels.
